Department UITS LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES (UA-LT-IUBLA) Department Information Would you like to get a head start in learning how to evaluate and create active learning classrooms by working with the Learning Spaces team and Collaborative Technologies? This is a fantastic opportunity for students in a variety of disciplines to gain experience with learning technologies, evaluating Learning Spaces, and documenting resources available to instructors. Job Summary Interns will participate in a 1-week training program, followed by a 14-weeks field experience evaluating Canvas courses and documenting results.

Department-Specific Responsibilities Performs Active Learning Classroom certification evaluations by using certification document to help evaluate IU classrooms for active learning certification status Works with a team to complete projects according to a timeline Updates classroom database with accurate information, images, diagrams, and resources for instructors Remediates content Assists in documenting current work processes for the creation of job aides Qualifications EDUCATION Required Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University and in good academic standing Preferred Background in educational psychology and technology, instructional design, User Experience (UX) Design, or User Interface (UI) Design SKILLS Required Basic knowledge of database work and Microsoft 365 tools Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, and take quality photographs Ability to demonstrate attention to detail in all deliverables and communications Ability to research, analyze, and synthesize information/data and provide recommendations for designing learning solutions Personable and enjoy working in a team environment Ability to work effectively and efficiently with a minimum of supervision Ability to take on various roles such as processing PDFs, editing Pressbooks, and going to classrooms to verify data and gather images Ability to reconfigure moveable classroom seating to depict different seating arrangements in classrooms and take images of those options Additional Information Interns will receive training about the Certification of Active Learning Classrooms at Indiana University. Interns will also learn how to create certification documents and database content and how to create and update Pressbooks resources for instructors.
