Part Time/ Stringer Reporter

The Messenger, a newspaper serving Madisonville, Kentucky and the surrounding communities, is looking for a part time or stringer/freelance journalist to join our staff. He or she will have a passion for the craft, a desire to inform the public, a curiosity about what makes people, institutions and governments tick, and the ability to write clean, AP-style copy. Photography skills are a plus. We are a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday paper with two associated weeklies. Madisonville is close to the outdoor recreation mecca of Land Between the Lakes and under two hours from booming Nashville. We are part of Paxton Media Group, a Kentucky-based, family-owned, growing company that owns more than 60 newspapers.

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance

Pay: Up to $41,558.82 per year

Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week

Schedule:

• Weekends as needed
