Underground Railroad Inc. is currently seeking one Part-Time Safeplace Monitor
General Responsibilities
- Monitor supervised parenting time sessions and exchanges
- Facilitate intake and orientation for adults/children.
- Provide individual processing sessions with children
- Provide service data to coordinator as requested for billing and reporting purposes.
- Answer program/office telephone; return client/system person calls and schedule client intake/orientation and visit/exchanges sessions
- Maintain positive working relationships with judges, DHS, FOC, MPRI and other agencies within our community that will improve the services we provide to survivors.
- Recommend changes and additions to policies and procedures in the Standard Operating Procedures Manual for the supervised visitation program.
- Maintain scheduling and communications with referrals sources and program participants.
- Prepare and maintain program data, client files and report
- Ability to work with people of various socio-economic, multi-cultural, multi-racial backgrounds and sexual orientations.
- Maintain confidential files and keep confidentiality of crime victims
- Cooperate with all other Underground Railroad Programs to achieve organizational goals.
- Attend monthly staff and program meetings as scheduled.
- Allow for flexibility in scheduling and job function
- Maintain respectful attitude toward program participants and co-workers.
- Must adhere to all safety and security policies, identify, and correct security breaches to assure a Safe Place for guests and co-workers.
- Assist Coordinator in administrative duties, program development and/or planning.
- Assist in training of and working with volunteers and interns and staff.
- Any other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications And Skills Required
- Professional Skills: Minimum of two years college in a Human Services curriculum and/or survivor of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking; previous domestic violence and child abuse work experience preferred
- Communication Skills: The ability to speak and write clearly using proper spelling and grammar.
- Can be empathetic and able to remain calm in a crisis. Understand and follow empowerment model.
- Has knowledge of and is interested in women’s issues; particularly the dynamics and laws pertaining to domestic violence victims, sexual assault and stalking
- Has knowledge of legal system and court monitoring procedures as related to domestic violence and sexual assault issues
- Computer Skills: Can utilize a personal computer and is familiar with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Business applications.
- Good interpersonal skills, capable of working well with staff, clients, court personnel and program staff.
