JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
This position will be responsible for conducting research on Law Enforcement Training Programs involving in-service officers. Some research may involve specific topics including issues like procedural justice, de-escalation skills, tactical communication skills, non-violent resolution of people in crisis, etc. The person selected for this position will be given areas to research which may involve internet searches, contacting agencies, speaking with subject matter experts, or others. The research will result in position papers that will be submitted to the supervisor for inclusion in developing courses to be offered by Penn State JASI.
The position requires detailed research skills and excellent writing skills. It will require periodic in-person meetings, but some work can be done remotely.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
