Job description

The Purchasing Manager will handle all aspects of purchasing for our two companies under one roof—from the RFQ to entering the final bill.

This person should be comfortable talking with vendors, and develop great relationships with them. Great phone and email etiquette, and top-notch customer service are a must as this person is representing our business. This is a Part Time position, 24 hours per week. There is potential for full time once we enter our busy season.

The Purchasing Manager’s daily tasks are included but not limited to:

· Create RFQs and purchase orders for raw material and resale items as needed

· Track cost and sale price values in QuickBooks

· Generate work orders for raw material

· Seek out new vendors or materials as needed

· Work with various departments for supply orders and schedule accordingly

· Create and send purchase orders to suppliers

· Enter payables and file with receiving slips from incoming shipments

We are a small, family owned and operated business where most employees wear many hats. The Purchasing Manager will also be responsible for the following:

· Posting job positions and coordinating interviews with the management team

· Maintaining new hire onboarding paperwork

· Managing time off calendar and employee absence schedule

· Other human resource related projects as needed

· Creating and maintaining training materials for new hires (i.e. forklift certification, respirator training, etc.)

· Updating and maintaining current Safety Data Sheets

· Updating and maintaining all safety protocols including signage, safety training, written safety materials, etc.

· Other safety related projects as needed

To be successful in this position, the Purchasing Manager must be able to multi-task, prioritize and stay organized. We are a small shop, but have over 1,000 parts that we manufacture or purchase and resell. The ideal candidate should have experience in purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing environment where they would be familiar with various types of materials and processes. It is important that this employee is a self-starter who is able to complete daily and weekly tasks efficiently and on time.

Programs that this employee will use daily or often include:

· QuickBooks (our accounting software)

· Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher

· Microsoft Outlook and Calendar

· Various vendor websites to order products through our accounts

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
