JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Extension's Food, Families, and Health Unit is seeking candidates to work remotely to support our internal Peer Review process. Candidates who have a background in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, or a related field are preferred. This position will have responsibilities including organizing and evaluating various types of products such as articles, PowerPoint Scrips, handouts, against established criteria, accepting, or rejecting products, tracking products through the Peer Review process, researching, and fact-checking. You will work directly with the product authors, Peer Reviewers and Peer Review coordinator.
Requirements for the position:
• Strong organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Willingness to establish proficiency in APA Style and AP News Style
• Good written and oral communication skills
• flexible and open to change
• knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Prior knowledge of Extension or Food, Families, and Health programming areas are not necessarily needed, but an assiduous attitude and the ability to apply established guidelines are musts.
This is a 20-hours per week remote position, involving independent work, participating in zoom meetings and frequent emails.

CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS:
Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters. The ASR is available for review here.
