Part -Time Payables Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION: PAYABLES ACCOUNTANT- Part-Time

The Ministry of Caring is a non-profit organization committed to serving the ongoing needs of the poor: food for the hungry, shelter and transitional living for the homeless, jobs for the unemployed, clothing and furniture for the needy, child care for homeless children, medical and dental services for the poor and advocacy for the disenfranchised and permanent housing for the elderly.

1. Genuine concern for the poor and sensitivity to their need for dignity and respect.

• Background in business management, accounting, and knowledge of general ledger.
• Computer literacy—Excel and Word.
• Ability to organize data.
• Honesty, dependable and cooperative.
• Personal flexibility and ability to find alternative solutions to problems.

• Provide general assistance and support to the CFO and ACFO.
• Analyze and prepare accounts payable checks weekly.
• Summarize payroll time sheets and input payroll data bi-weekly.
• Prepare monthly pension billing.
• Assist with cash management and banking matters.
• Prepare special reports as necessary.
• Work closely with financial auditors.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
