Sonnets Academy is seeking kind, imaginative, and experienced individuals for Multi-Room Assistant Teaching positions. This warm and patient individual should have creativity and lots of passion for the field of Early Childhood Education.
Our Multi-Room Assistant Teachers are professionals that nurture young minds while maintaining a happy, healthy and safe environment. On a daily basis our Multi-Room Assistant Teachers support and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans to children 6 weeks to 6 years and foster open communication with parents about progress, schedules, and individual achievement.
Responsibilities and Duties

• Support and help implement developmentally appropriate curriculum to foster a play based and structured environment
• Help facilitate creative play, motor-skill activities, and safe peer interactions throughout the day
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom that supports each childs independent learning
• In collaboration with Lead Teacher, prep the materials needed to implement the activities
• Documents daily reports for each child on classroom app for parents
• Meet the needs of the whole child and support the social and emotional growth of all children
• Follow supervision, mentorship and instruction from Lead Teacher for the purpose of providing an effective and efficient classroom environment and addressing the needs of individual students
• Attend and participate in age group team collaborative meetings, whole staff meetings, classroom team meetings and cross age group team meetings
• Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with children, parents, staff and community members by communicating in a respectful, courteous and confidential manner

Qualifications and Skills

• CDA, Associates Degree, or Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for 6 weeks -to-6 year olds
• Experience implementing curriculum lessons for toddler age group
• CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
• Proof of up to date physical, TB Test, and immunizations
• Food Managers License or Food Handlers Training Certificate
• Must be a team player and eager to work with others
• Excellent organization skills
• Positive and proactive communication skills
• One or more years of professional experience in an early childhood classroom
• Be open to continual professional development in the field of early childhood
• Must meet and follow all City and State licensing requirements
• Salary dependent on experience and level of education

* Monday - Friday 11:30am - 5:30pm
