Position Title Part-Time Math Success Coach Job Description Iowa Western is currently seeking a part-time Math Success Coach to join our exciting, student-focused team at our Council Bluffs Campus. The Math Success Coach provides outreach, referrals, and interventions to at-risk students enrolled in math classes, with particular emphasis on students in Statistics and Intermediate Algebra. The Math Success Coach provides supplementary academic and non-cognitive support to individual and small groups of students through tailored and targeted lessons. In addition, the Math Success Coach facilitates multiple sections of math courses that serve as co-requisites for college-level Statistics courses.
Full Time/Part Time Regular, Part Time If part time, projected hours (per week) 2-10 Organizational Division Academic Affairs Campus Location Council Bluffs Required Qualifications - Bachelor's of Mathematics or a Bachelor's Degree with 18 undergraduate hours of Mathematics.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Community college teaching experience.
- Understanding of community college philosophy and the community college student.
Ability to occasionally lift 10 pounds, ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone, and other basic office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, use a phone and some travel, by vehicle, may be required. Reading, writing, calculating, social interaction skills, reasoning/analysis, and ability to work with minimal supervision, high degree of problem-solving and high level of inter-personal skills is preferred.
