Job Title: Part-Time LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse Location: La Scuola d'Italia, PreK - 12th Grade Co-Ed Position Type: Part-Time, Hourly Summary: La Scuola d'Italia is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our school's healthcare team on a part-time basis. The LPN will provide professional nursing care to students from PreK to 12th grade in accordance with the policies and procedures of the school and state regulations. Responsibilities: Student Health Services: Provide nursing care and health services to students with varying health needs, including medication administration, wound care, first aid, and managing chronic health conditions. Health Education: Collaborate with the school nurse to develop and implement health education programs for students, faculty, and staff. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide immediate care until further assistance arrives. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for all students, including health assessments, immunization records, and treatment plans. Communication: Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and administrators regarding students' health concerns, treatment plans, and necessary accommodations. Health Screenings: Conduct health screenings as required by state regulations and school policies. Compliance: Adhere to all state regulations, school policies, and professional standards related to nursing practice and student health services. Qualifications: Current LPN license in the state of New York. Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting. Strong clinical skills, including medication administration, wound care, and first aid. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in nursing practice. CPR and First Aid certification required; additional certifications such as AED training preferred. Schedule: This is a part-time position, 20 hours per week.
