This part-time professional role provides effective delivery of research that facilitates course materials selections across all course development. The role also coordinates and performs content improvements for course-integrated library guides and library tutorials for our
General Education programs, as well as serving as a key partner with the Office of Undergraduate Studies. This position is highly faculty and staff client-focused. This position reports to the Supervisor – Curriculum & Instruction Team and works cooperatively with other library staff to support library services.
Provide library research, as requested, for faculty SMEs and course development staff, as well as online open educational resources. Act as main library instructional partner and liaison for General Education and undergraduate studies initiatives.
Readings & Online Resource Research:
Prepare lists of potential library or online readings that support course development competencies, in response to faculty subject matter expert and course design staff requests.
Manage help requests from readings research queue.
Perform research in the online library collections and the open web, preparing lists of course-appropriate resources.
Develop proficiency in navigating online library research tools, library collections and open online educational resource websites.
Demonstrate initiative in promoting and maintaining client focused services and culture.
Undergraduate Studies & General Education Support
Coordinate and conduct content improvements and maintenance for Library Research Guides and video tutorials, supporting Capella’s General Education and Undergraduate Studies offerings (typically 50% of duties).
Define and coordinate content improvement initiatives with supervisor.
Review course requirements and learning outcomes, identifying the most strategic content improvements that enhance academic performance.
Design and write learning content that enhances General Education Library Research Guides.
Incorporate surveys and assessments that collect learner feedback on guide quality.
Advertise content improvements to General Education stakeholders via outreach.
Participate as an active member of the library team to accomplish library and departmental goals.
Participate in team training and personal development opportunities as time allows.
Participate in goal setting and planning processes.
Remain current on technologies or trends that enhance teaching and learning as time allows.
Create annual goals and incorporate performance feedback.
Attend scheduled, weekly 1:1 meetings with supervisor.

Masters in Library & Information Science Required - Degree must be accredited by the American Library Association
Other:

Must be able to spend significant time working at a computer and on the phone using a headset.
Knowledge of information literacy concepts and skill development.
Significant knowledge of online databases, library and information technologies.
Energetic and motivated, with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
Work location: Remote or virtual (work from home).

Hours: Must be able to work 20 hours a week, mostly within typical business hours.
