Part Time Kennel Technician - Guest Care Specialist

Job Summary:

Mainstay Veterinary Practice Resort is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Guest Care Specialist – Kennel Technician to join our team. Responsibilities:

• Implement playgroup management techniques to ensure compatibility and safety among all guests under the supervision of Dog Training Apprentice(s), unless otherwise indicated by leadership.
• Feed and administer medication to boarding guests following provided instructions.
• Record all care-related details accurately within designated software.
• Assist with basic bathing, grooming, and hygiene tasks for animal guests.
• Under the supervision of a Dog Training Apprentice, interact with MVPR guests individually using appropriate toys and tools to ensure safe levels of play, minimize stress levels, provide companionship/socialization, and physically and mentally enrich each animal guest.
• Visually always observe MVPR guests, equally distribute attention, and monitor for any physical and/or health changes. Report any concerns immediately to the direct supervisor.
• Demonstrate ability to identify all MVPR guests individually and/or in group settings.
• Ensure that all team members interacting with guests have knowledge of their identity, flag any guests with special needs, or concerns observed.
• Alert the direct supervisor regarding any unusual behaviors displayed by any animal guest(s).
• Monitor and record guest demeanor, physical health, behavioral, or miscellaneous details for each guest and immediately notify management of concerns.
• Notate (within software) daily logs of guest demeanor, eating habits, drinking habits, potty habits, physical health, behavioral, and miscellaneous visit details to send to owners.
• Maintain daily logs of guest activities and submit relevant incident reports.
• Complete general cleaning duties, including waste disposal, sanitization, and equipment laundering.
• Clean and sanitize kennel areas, including kennel runs, cages, and common spaces daily.
• Monitor and organize inventory, notifying the supervisor when restocking is needed.
• Assist Dog Training Apprentices with their daily tasks.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development in animal care.

Qualifications:

• Must be punctual and dependable.
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred, or a strong interest in animal care.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds unassisted.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
