Primary Purpose of Position The Department of Computer Science is accepting applications for a part-time instructor. Part-Time Instructors are hired on a semester-by-semester basis to teach courses delivered by the department. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Teaching face-to-face and/or online Computer Science ( COMP) courses, participating in data collection and assessment of student learning, and submitting teaching materials as part of semester review.

The College of Engineering, with over 2,300 students, has EAC ABET accredited undergraduate programs in Architectural, Bioengineering, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as a CAC ABET-accredited program in Computer Science. The Computer Science Department at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University has 12 full-time faculty members and offers BS, MS and PhD degrees. The department has a current enrollment of 338 undergraduate students, 40 masters and 25 doctoral students. The faculty in the department conduct research in areas such as cyber security, cyber identity, big data, artificial intelligence and machine learning, cloud computing, software engineering, multi-agents and social computing. The department has attracted funding from National Science Foundation, the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, as well as various industries to support research and education. The department leads the University's Center for Cyber Defense, which is designated as a Center for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security. The department is part of the Consortium Enabling Cybersecurity Opportunities and Research, which is a consortium of twelve colleges and universities and a public school system funded by the Nuclear Security Administration.
Minimum Requirements Candidates must have a Master's degree and / or Doctoral degree in Computer Science or related field at the time of application.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education Candidates with 1-3 years teaching experience at the University or Community College level.
