Part-Time Daycare Yoga Teacher

Summary
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Part-time Yoga Teacher to lead yoga classes for children at our daycare center, Little Rainbow Daycare. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in yoga instruction and a genuine enthusiasm for working with young children. The Part-time Yoga Teacher will be responsible for creating a nurturing and supportive environment where children can explore yoga poses, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices.
Duties

• Plan and lead developmentally appropriate yoga classes for children ages Infants - Toddlers in our daycare program.
• Design engaging and creative yoga sequences that promote physical fitness, flexibility, balance, and relaxation.
• Teach basic yoga poses, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques in a manner that is accessible and enjoyable for young children.
• Incorporate age-appropriate mindfulness activities, games, and storytelling to enhance children's focus, self-awareness, and emotional regulation.
• Provide clear and compassionate instruction, offering modifications and adjustments as needed to accommodate children's individual abilities and needs.
• Create a positive and inclusive class environment where children feel comfortable and supported in exploring their bodies, minds, and emotions.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and daycare staff, communicating regularly about class activities, goals, and children's progress.
• Maintain a safe and clean yoga space, ensuring that equipment and props are properly stored and sanitized after each use.

Requirements

• Certified yoga instructor with training and experience teaching children's yoga (Yoga Alliance certification preferred).
• Experience working with young children in a daycare, school, or recreational setting.
• Knowledge of child development principles and how they relate to yoga practice.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Creativity, patience, and a genuine love for working with young children.
• Ability to plan and organize yoga classes that are engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with educational goals.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of children and accommodate changing schedules and priorities.
