Part Time Cdl-A Driver

We are looking for a Part Time driver to run local or regional runs a few times a week. The schedule can be very flexible. Other responsibilities include moving trucks to and from repair shops, minor repairs (lights and air leaks), checking tire wear and pressure, regular vehicle inspections, re-stocking trailers with securement equipment, and other related responsibilites.

Responsibilities:

- Safely and efficiently operate a tractor trailer.

- Safely secure cargo. Strapping required. Occasionaly chains and binders are required. Occasionaly tarping/untarping is required.

- Follow delivery schedules and routes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.

- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections.

-Part time driver will also be responsible to monitor all vehicles in the fleet for necessary maintenance and repairs. Part time driver will communicate necessary repairs or maintenance needed to manager so repairs can be scheduled. We'd like to hire someone who would be willing to make some money doing some of the very minor repairs like lights and air leaks. For larger repairs or maintenance we will utilize the Part Time driver to move trucks and trailers to and from repair shops.

- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries.

Requirements:

- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.

- Ability to obtain and retain a medical card.

- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and ongoing random drug/alcohol tests.

- Commercial driving experience preferred.

- Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.

- Ability to navigate using GPS or other navigation systems.

- Excellent time management and organizational skills.

- Ability to lift heavy objects, throw straps, tarp, and perform other physical tasks related to loading and unloading cargo.

- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.

Skills:

- Experience driving box tractor-trailers or other commercial vehicles.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 – 30 per week
