Part-time Bookkeeping Advisor

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to assist with the financial management and ongoing accounting services offered to clients at MPK Advisors & CPAs. We serve a range of industries, with specialty in the not-for-profit sector. The job would require recording all financial transactions, including cash payments and receipts, into the correct general ledger accounts and verifying their accuracy; maintaining clean and reconciled accounts monthly; recording payroll transactions, and generating regular financial reports for clients to review. The ideal candidate for this position will have worked as a professional Bookkeeper for a minimum of one year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• reconciliations of all accounts as needed (bank, credit card, loans, etc.)
• Maintain clients’ general ledger accounts in an accurate, complete, and up to date manner
• Perform all activities related to the accounts payable function including reviewing, coding, and processing payments as needed
• Perform account receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition
• Prepare financial reports throug Conduct h collection, analysis, and summarization of data
• Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards
• Observes and adheres to all job safety rules
• Performs other duties that improve the efficiency of the above processes and procedures
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the President

Education/Certification/License Requirements:

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Preferred)
• QuickBooks Online Certified (Preferred)

Work Experience/Qualifications:

• 1-3 years relevant experience working in accounting and bookkeeping
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient skills in Intuit QuickBooks Online, Adobe PDF and Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting, including journal entries
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Able to multi-task, prioritize, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
• Willingness to travel locally as needed for client on-site meetings and bookkeeping

Physical Demands:

• This job requires sitting for extended periods of time, walking, bending, reaching, carrying, and occasionally lifting and/or moving objects. The employee is regularly able to move about the office; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; see and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to lift up to 10 pounds and is frequently required to lift up to 25 pounds. The employee requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
