Job description

The Hotel Colorado is hiring for our Banquet Set Up position. No experience necessary! We will train you. Shifts in the late evening and late night are available. Your pay rate at this position will be $20.00/hr. You would be part of a pool of people who are emailed a list of upcoming banquet and meeting events Set Up shifts. It is a fabulous second job opportunity or a fun money position. You choose which shifts you work! Hotel Colorado has been delighting guests with its legendary hospitality since 1893. The first phase of a $10 million restoration of the Hotel Colorado was completed in August 2019 with improvements to and discoveries in six restored meeting and banquet rooms. Original brick fireplaces were uncovered in four of the rooms-Roosevelt, Garden, Taft and Devereux-during the restoration. Hotel Colorado recently completed the second phase of renovations with comprehensive floor-to-ceiling remodels in all standard guest rooms. Fireplaces and original brick walls were also discovered in some of these rooms.
We are a full-service hotel offering breakfast, lunch and dinner service, bar service, on-site catering, audio visual services, and hosting groups ranging from 5 to 300 people. We were the 2022 Silver Medal winner for Locals Choice Best Place to work with 26 or more employees.
What would you do as a Banquet Set Up employee? You would make sure the meeting room or banquet space is clean by dusting, vacuuming, and/or sweeping. You would place tables and chairs in the correct position using the room diagram for the event. You would make sure the linens are placed on the table and are neat and wrinkle free. If the event calls for chair covers you would place them on the chairs. You would Set Up the serving table(s) if it is a buffet event. You would Set Up water and coffee stations. If you are working a shift after an event, you would remove all these items, place them in the proper place and clean up the meeting or banquet space.
What qualifications do you need for this job? The ability to follow a room Set Up diagram and move tables and chairs to the proper location.
