Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. The College is a dynamic learning organization that serves as a Germanna regional leader and preferred partner where quality learning experiences enable students to participate effectively in the social, economic, political, intellectual, and cultural life of their communities. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. Full of history, the area offers a community rich with diversity, the arts, technology, vineyards, hiking, canoeing/kayaking, and many other activities.
Germanna Community College is currently seeking two dedicated Part-Time Admissions Coaches to fulfill a crucial role as a resource and guide for prospective students and applicants. The Admissions Coach plays an integral part in providing high-quality service to enable prospective students to navigate the college onboarding processes successfully. This role emphasizes a holistic model of care and utilizes a case management approach to streamline the onboarding experience for new students. The Admissions Coach serve as students' primary point of contact and ensures a seamless journey from initial inquiry to registration. This position may require travel between campuses as well as working some evenings and weekends.
General Description of Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new students, reducing service fragmentation and ensuring quality care throughout the enrollment process.
  • Engage prospective students from their initial inquiry through the registration phase, offering guidance and support to expedite their transition to college.
  • Monitor the progress of prospective students and applicants during the enrollment process, promptly addressing inquiries and providing comprehensive information about Germanna Community College's career and educational pathways, as well as the enrollment process.
  • Collaborate with college colleagues to identify and address barriers to prospective student enrollment, with the goal of enrolling prospects within 24-48 hours of their initial inquiry.
  • Utilize expertise in connecting students with relevant subject matter experts to facilitate seamless onboarding.
  • Participate in extensive training on the Culture of Care before interacting with students, utilizing a toolkit for on-the-job reference, and engaging in required ongoing professional development.
  • Be prepared for occasional travel between campuses and the flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.

KSA's/Required Qualifications
  • Previous experience in Enrollment Services, an Admissions Office, or as an Admission Coach/Navigator, or in a related role.
  • Previous experience using Salesforce data tracking system or similar.
  • Experience working with students in a higher education setting.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of making informed recommendations on complex issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Extensive customer service experience with the ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Experience with or willingness to learn AI tools.

Additional Considerations
