Description

Clark College is currently seeking to fill a part-time Acting Instructor position. The course is an in-person class that will meet twice a week for 2.5 hours.
The instructor will be required to have knowledge of current acting practices along with acting systems and methods. The instructor will be required to provide constructive feedback to the students. The instructor will have knowledge of directing and will provide suggestions for interpretation and movement in acting assignments. The instructor will have knowledge of dramatic literature as suggestions for monologues and scene work will be a requirement of the position.
This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Applicants must be available to teach the daytime, evening or weekend hours. Positions will be filled as program needs arise.

GENERAL FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Master's Degree in theater or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching in a college setting.
  • Five (5) years of experience working in and/or directing theater.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

Supplemental Information
SALARY STATEMENT: Lecture hourly rate is $85.45, and lab hourly rate is $73.01.
