Back to all Jobs Parks Maintenance Worker-PT Location: Park & Recreation, Dahlonega, GA 30533 Department: Park & Recreation Job Status: Part-Time Apply Now Job Description This position supervises athletic practices and games for different sports programs, as well as maintains athletic fields and Park grounds and facilities as needed. Job Responsibilities ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Supervises athletic practices/games and evaluates athletic programs; Administers program guidelines, policies and procedures; Preps sporting areas for practices and games, as sport appropriate; Performs facility setup for events; Provides great customer service; must be an effective and clear communicator; Drives trucks or tractors with adjustable attachments in order to perform appropriate field maintenance; Maintains athletic fields using lawn mowers, weed eaters, edger, sod cutter, ball field drag machines and various hand tools; Cleans restrooms and removes garbage; Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK: Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent; Two (2) years of related work experience; Or equivalent education, and/or experience.
Licenses and Certifications: Possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of departmental policies and practices; Knowledge of different rule sets for multiple sports; Knowledge of simple routine maintenance of equipment including lawn mowers, all-terrain vehicles, weed eaters, etc. required; Skill in the use of small office equipment, including copy machines or multi-line telephone systems; Skill in using computers for data entry; Ability to organize and communicate effectively.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is medium and requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Required to work outside for extended periods of time in extreme weather, as well as weekends and evenings. Work also requires bending, climbing, crawling, crouching, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
