Position Summary
GENERAL SUMMARY: Under supervision, perform manual labor necessary to develop, maintain, or protect the urban tree canopy through such activities as combating insects, pests, and diseases harmful to trees; operate light and medium duty trucks and equipment and performs unskilled and semi-skilled work in the planting, trimming, and removal of publicly owned trees; and perform related work as required.

Job Duties
- Transport and plant trees, backfill, mulch, and water
- Inspect vehicles, and equipment to determine condition or maintenance needs.
- Cut trees or logs.
- Clean equipment or facilities; and job site.
- Trim trees.
- Operate trucks and equipment; and manual and power tools.
- Maintain trees, vehicles and equipment.
- Remove trees and brush.
- Drag and chip brush.
- Move and stack wood.
- Provide traffic control.
- Assist in stump grinding operations.
- Load and unload trucks.
- Dig planting holes.
- Make stump herbicide treatments.
- Keep time card and other records.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience operating light or medium duty trucks and equipment.
- Possession of a Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience removing and maintaining trees.
