Position Summary
Planning/implementing Traffic Control plans, setting up and taking down temporary Traffic Control barricades for lane closures, road closures, special events, and any identified police events.
This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in business; and
Four (4) years of experience in security, parking, construction zone, or Traffic Control.
Required to work weekends and holidays.
Required to be in an on-call status and work odd hours, split shifts, and working special assignments.
American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) training/certification within six (6) months from date of hire.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Preferred Knowledge

• Traffic control planning and instruction
• Traffic safety and effective Traffic Control methods and technique
• Field adjustments and corrections to make the project safe for the motoring public and pedestrians going through the work zone
• Symbols and terminology used in engineering drawings
• Engineering maps, plans and records
• Traffic control/parking principles and practices
• Traffic laws and regulations pertaining to Traffic Control
• Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices
