Summary:
The City of Lawrence, KS, is seeking to fill the position of Parking Field Supervisor. This position reports to the Parking Manager and would join a team of eight colleagues who strive to make the Downtown Lawrence business district more vibrant and appealing to visitors and the Lawrence community. The ideal candidate will have a passion for their work, treat all people with respect and empathy, and bring a positive and problem-solving attitude to the Parking Department. The position's responsibilities include supervising front-line parking enforcement staff, overseeing the collection of all parking monies, managing the downtown ambassador program, and directly administering the parking management system for the City of Lawrence.
This position helps advance the City’s Strategic Plan by providing a convenient parking system and providing a customer-friendly, clean, and safe parking experience for downtown visitors and residents. The Parking Supervisor is positioned to recognize operational trends and common parking concerns and is expected to help recommend improvements to service, communication, or processes that can improve operations and support the continued success of the downtown business district.
Qualifications:
Modern and complex principles and practices of managing multiple parking programs and systems. Principles of legal and business letter writing and report preparation. Proficient knowledge of Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations.
Equivalent to a high school diploma with three to five years of supervisor experience is preferred.
