Holy Trinity Lutheran Church seeks a Parish Administrator to maintain a warm, welcoming, orderly atmosphere for those who call or visit the church. Reporting to the pastor, the Parish Administrator is responsible and accountable for the day-to-day coordination and implementation of administrative and business-related functions of the church. The Parish Administrator also works closely with church staff, volunteers, and council members in a positive, collaborative, and supportive team environment. Our ideal candidate will be courteous, self-motivated, and trustworthy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and facilitate communication: Respond to all telephone, email, and in-person inquiries/visits; Create and distribute weekly bulletin and newsletter; Send readings to readers and prayers to assist ministers; Sort mail and distribute daily; Respond to and coordinate meeting space requests; Schedule communion servers, readers, and acolytes; distribute schedule; Prepare and submit annual reports by collecting necessary data and information
- Create, update, and/or publish content on the parish website (e.g., calendar, directory, etc.) and social media platforms
- Update parish database (e.g., birthdays, baptisms, confirmations, weddings, funerals, etc.)
- Process and submit bills to the treasurer for payment
- Assist with the annual budget process by providing input about administrative expenses as well as prepare and submit the office budget to the treasurer
- Order office supplies as needed and monitor office supplies budget
- Monitor maintenance of office equipment; schedule servicing and order parts as needed
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or General Education degree (GED); and/or minimum one-year related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communicationskills
- Experience creating and editing content
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity/experience with the following computer/technology skills: Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Database software; Website platform (e.g., WordPress, WIX, GoDaddy, etc.); Facebook
- Willingness to learn new things, work with the manuals and documentation available, experiment, and ask for help
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous office administrator experience
- Understanding of the use of styles such as in headings, lists, etc. within Microsoft Word
- Familiarity/experience with webinar platforms such as Zoom, and additional social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok
This is a part-time position (up to 20 hours a week) that pays $20.00 per hour with regular business hours of Monday – Friday typically 9 am – 1 pm, semi-flexible work. We allow flexibility for personal vacations.
