POSITON SUMMARY:
The Parent Service Coordinator is assigned to a community school (Parkville Elementary School) that works to implement the community school’s engagement plan in partnership with the school’s Family & Community Services Support Provider (FCSSP). They also ensure that parent communication and engagement occurs in the Community School Program.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the development of the parent engagement plan on an annual basis.
- Coordinate activities in partnership with the school’s FCSSP).
- Secure community and school volunteers to provide parent workshops (in person and virtually).
- Deliver parent workshops as appropriate.
- Collaborate with parents and the FCSSP to identify programming and basic needs. Finding/creating resources to respond to these needs.
- Coordinate the monthly Family Resource Center calendar with the FCSSP.
- Ensure communication with parents occurs for parents of After School academy participants.
- Complete data entry and analysis related to parent attendance. Develop outreach strategies to increase parent participation to meet annual goals.
- With the Community Schools Coordinator, secure community partners to augment parent programs and activities.
- Other duties as required.
PQI Functions:
- Ensure the consistent accurate collection of the data
- Identify patterns and trends for program
- Use results of data to inform supervisor of trends that may impact service
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent preferred. AA/AS degree.
- Training in parent leadership and/or engagement preferred.
- Knowledge of public school systems is helpful.
- Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word environment and ability to manage data.
- The candidate must have high levels of personal characteristics including, but not limited to the following: enthusiasm, competency, empathy, and warmth.
- The candidate must also be firm but fair, encourage self-efficacy and model pro-social beliefs.
- Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) strongly encouraged
