Paratransit Bus Operator

Join our Transit Team as a Paratransit Bus Operator and transport individuals who rely on our service to work, doctors’ appointments, grocery stores, and much, much more! As a Transit Bus Operator, you will provide our clients with the freedom and independence of reliable, safe transportation.

Job Responsibilities:

· Safely operate a bus or van to transport passengers to designated locations.

· Loads, secures, and unloads passengers at stops; meets and greets passengers in a courteous manner and assists passengers with packages as needed.

· Securing wheelchairs and scooters onto bus.

· Perform vehicle and equipment inspections before and after use.

· Ability to utilize onboard technology, including mobile data tablets and GPS.

· Collect payments keeping a log of clients using the bus service.

· Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle at all times.

Qualifications:

· Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening.

· Must have a clean driving record.

· Must adhere to the Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace standards.

· Must pass a DOT physical exam.

· Must be able to escort clients from door to door and perform physical movements including pushing wheelchair clients and assisting ambulatory clients.

· Professional presentation and attitude.

· Possess excellent communication and decision-making skills.

· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to push up to 350 pounds combined weight of a client in a wheelchair.

· Standing: Ability to stand for prolonged periods.

· Physical Exertion: Ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push individuals or materials.

· Drive vehicles.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
