Our School Services team in Hawaii is currently seeking Behavior Specialist to join our dynamic and growing team!

What's a Behavior Specialist?

We will teach you to use the strategies of Applied Behavior Analysis to work with clients who have development delays, such as Autism. A Behavior Specialist provides direct 1:1 therapy for teaching life skills and behavior reduction to those with Autism in a gentle, center or home-based environment
The Behavior Specialist works to facilitate educational and behavioral services with children and adults with special needs. The Behavior Specialist collaborates with school professionals and other behavioral specialists to achieve learning and behavioral goals and objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Follows the instructions of the BCBA/program supervisor/teacher
  • Provides behavior assistance/interventions to assigned clients
  • Performs ABA related teaching strategies
  • Provides behavior support services
  • Provides crisis intervention
  • Review and Implement behavior intervention plans
  • Review and implement behavioral goals found within IEPs
  • Documents session per policies and procedures
  • Collects data accurately and efficiently
  • Strictly adhere to confidentiality requirements
  • Assist students in the development of independent skills through self-care activities such as toileting, clothing routines and personal hygiene.
  • Implement behavior management techniques in accordance with the directions given by the supervising teacher; including reinforcing appropriate behaviors in accordance with the teachers plan and supervising the student during these behavior management techniques
  • Additional job duties as assigned

About You
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Education: Minimum of 48 college credits (at the 100 level) or completed Paraprofessional Assessment
    • You may complete the Parapro Assessment on your own by visiting https://www.prometric.com/ParaPro
  • Availability: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-3:00pm (part time or potentially Full Time (30+ hours) and preferred evening availability from 3:30pm-7:30pm
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Two (2) years relevant experience working in the school environment preferred
  • Current CPR certification preferred
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills
  • Computer proficiency required
