About our Endura Products Division
We are excited to welcome Endura to the Masonite family in 2023. The company is a leading innovator and manufacturer of high-performance door frames and door system components, operating out of four facilities in NC, TX and OR.
Overview
The Pallet Shop Carpenter for Endura Products/Masonite. Reports to the shipping department Manager/Supervisor. One of the main work functions of the pallet shop carpenter is to produce dimensional specific pallets, dunnage and liner boards to meet production requirements. This position will require the ability to proficiently use common carpentry tools to include but not limited to, tape measures, saws, prybars, hammers, sanders, table saws, planers and pneumatic nail guns. This position will also perform general housekeeping and clean-up of their work areas both in and out of the pallet shop building and pallet yard. This will require passing the forklift training course and become proficient in forklift operation to safely move products within the manufacturing facility. This position requires a highly motived and self-starting individual.
What you will do:
- Building and repairing pallets for shipping/product movement
- Ability to utilize various shop tools such as pry bars, saws, hammer, grinders, sanders and pneumatic nail guns.
- Reads/ interprets production schedules, performs visual quality checks, and comprehends build construction specs.
- Ability to communicate effectively cross functionally by verbal and written.
- Able to read blueprints and calipers
- Able to work in teams.
- Constant attention to detail of build construction and accuracy of material placement.
- Operates forklift, power pallet jack or manual carts or pallet jacks to unload, move or store materials.
- Follows work instructions and pays attention to details.
- Follows safety and PPE procedures and reports violations to supervisor, leads, and/or to safety.
- Achieves/performs daily targets and output of production.
- Meets quality standards for the department.
- Follows work practices that are in the guidelines of OSHA standards.
- Follows all Environmental Health and Safety rules and ISO requirements.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with 5s requirements, rules, and regulations.
- Must be able to work required overtime as needed.
- Work with members of leadership and quality to solve issues.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
What you will need:
- Preferably one year experience in manufacturing setting
- HS Diploma or GED preferred
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Able to read and write in English preferred but not required.
- Basic math skills with ability to perform basic math calculations, such as, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Plus, knowledge of fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Ability to compare actual measurements to specifications and determine if finished product is acceptable quality.
- Able to read and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule format.
- Ability to work in a team environment; good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to change.
- Good hand/eye coordination.
