Now Hiring: Part-Time PAL+ Coordinator [Community Assistance Program]
Average of 25 hours/week
Starting Pay: $19.00/hour
Bilingual Spanish/English skills required
Prefer: Veterinarian or Animal Shelter Services experience
General
The PAL+ Coordinator is a rewarding position focused on helping low income community members access subsidized cost spay/neuter, and basic wellness for their pets though the Prevent-A-Litter + program at Animal Friends Alliance. This position is responsible for the organization, implementation and communication of this program. The PAL+ Coordinator works closely with PAL+ Program clients to ensure clear communication between the client and the spay/neuter clinic and supports the clients needs. This position requires learning a wide range of policies and procedures and use of independent judgment and training to take appropriate actions with various situations. The PAL + Coordinator position is part-time. Work is to take place primarily on site at the Animal Friends Alliance Mulberry Campus with options for some remote work.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides quality in-person, online and telephone support for the PAL + program.
- Updates, reviews and processes PAL+ applications in a timely manner.
- Communicates with applicants to assess needs, schedule appointments and follow up on care received as needed.
- Answers questions and concerns of prospective clients and helps them to access the program application.
- Clearly reports information to other departments including development, client service teams and vet teams about PAL+ clients and their needs.
- Educates staff, volunteers and the public about PAL+ program in person.
- Recruits volunteers to assist with the program as needed.
- Tracks all related statistics information to assist with trends, grants, budgeting and the annual strategic plan.
- Works closely with the Community Pet Resources Manager to ensure the program is running smoothly and concerns are being addressed.
Other Duties:
- Learn basic duties of other departments and support other departments and staff as able.

Requirements
Education/Experience:
Education
- Preferred: Effective written and verbal communication in Spanish as well as English.
Experience:
- Preferred: Minimum of 2-years' working in human or animal welfare fields.
- Valid Driver's License: N/A
- Sincere interest in Animal Friends Alliance's mission & vision.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Google Suite including Gmail, Docs, Chat, Hangouts and Sheets.
- Knowledge of video conferencing applications.
Skills:
- Effective verbal communication skills for in person and telephone contact.
- Effective written communication skills for email communication.
- Excellent customer service skills, particularly with a variety of client situations.
- Basic computer skills.
