Job Summary/Purpose:
Assist the Maintenance Lead/Specialist with painting various areas of the apartment community assigned including interiors and exteriors. Ensure that the grounds are free of trash, debris and are properly cleaned as well as the office and amenities.
All responsibilities of the Painter are conducted in compliance with Equal Housing Opportunity laws. Effective performance results in increased operating results for the community.
Core Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Painting:
- Perform professional quality painting in apartments, as directed by Maintenance
- Paint apartments, as directed by Maintenance Lead and/or Community Manager
- Compete woodwork as needed on exteriors including patios and siding
- Perform professional quality painting on exterior buildings as directed by the Lead Carpenter/Painter
- Stock and maintain paint supplies
- Maintain the highest level of continuous repair and cleanliness at the community on a daily basis
- Assist manager with production of market ready apartments
- Ensure the physical upkeep of the community
- Maintain an adequate inventory of maintenance materials and cleaning supplies
- Check deliveries and monitor products and materials supplied to the community
- Participate in workplace safety
- Deliver extraordinary maintenance and customer service
- Work/check with all vendors that perform work on the property
- Report to manger on progress of maintenance work daily
General:
- Assists with resident functions as required
- Report to manager of maintenance work daily
- Complies with company safety policies and wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed. Adheres to OSHA safety standards that are applicable for the safe performance of job
- Maintains courteous and helpful demeanor with residents, prospective residents, co-workers, vendors, etc.
- Maintain professional appearance at all times which include wearing company uniform with photo I.D. badge during work hours
- Communicates progress on a regular basis with manager
- Acts as a team member with all associates of WEI
- Complies with all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Education:
HS/GED
Professional Certification or License:
Valid Driver’s License
Valid Auto Insurance
Specialized Knowledge:
Technical Courses; property maintenance, construction, codes and regulations
Skills:
Interpersonal, communication, excellent organization, scheduling and time management, basic math

Minimum 1-year painting
