Organizational Role
The Painter/Assembly typically serves as member of assembly production and is considered a member of the assembly department. The organization will depend on this person’s to properly prepare and paint components for machine assembly. Employee will also be required to assist with machine assembly when assigned.
Primary Function: The primary responsibility of the Painter/Assembler is, support Assembly Department by providing necessary components for machine builds to support on time delivery and quality requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operator is required to be clean shaven and be able to pass a respirator fit test and associated medical testing.
- Smooth and prepare surfaces for painting, include degreasing and cleaning to assure adhesion of paint
- Tape areas/surfaces to exclude paint as required.
- Mix paint as required with correct amount for each job.
- Apply paint with spray gun.
- Properly clean all equipment after each job.
- Maintain work area in clean orderly fashion.
- Perform proper preventive maintenance as instructed by Health and Safety Manager.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to performing job duties, include lifting, climbing, organization, etc.
- Store, handle and dispose of paint and chemicals according to established procedures.
- Plans, develops, initiates, and monitors production across multiple functions to improve productivity; communicates on results and accomplishments.
- Strategizes with production management and quality management; initiates sustainable process improvements to exceed customer expectations.
- Train, coaches/mentors future Painter/assembly employees; educates plant personnel on Paint/assembly methodology.
- Responsible for working with department manager in identifying areas for process improvement activities/events, establishing objectives for each project, and selecting team members and leaders.
- Monitor, assist in identifying the progress of kaizen projects.
- Identify if the database is relative to process improvement activities, assist as needed for process improvement.
- Coordinate work flow in plant to ensure on time delivery. Follow-up activities are required for nonconformities.
- Utilize and abide by ISO requirements and safety procedures
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
