Job Description
We are currently seeking a Paint/Body Heavy Duty Technician to join our team! You will be responsible for completing work orders and other required tasks. Potential for growth and expanded duties in a team environment.
Summary:
Bodywork repair of dents, scratches, etc. Disassemble the truck or trailer in preparation for the painting process, remove vinyl graphics, and prepare the existing paint surface for fresh paint & graphics. The ideal candidate will have skills in doing bodywork, working with fiberglass, and doing collision repair. Washing unit to PPG specification, masking, and assisting in the preparation for paint. Skills as a mechanic are a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Complete work and repair orders in a timely fashion
- Estimate time and extent of repairs
- Perform routine preventive maintenance
- Maintain material and supply inventory
- Oversee work performed by outside contractors as necessary
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in maintenance or other related fields
- Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment
- Ability to handle physical workload
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- High school diploma or GED.
- Maintain a safe work environment, achieve productivity goals and be familiar with the quality standard.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operations manuals, and written directions (Work Orders).
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
- Mechanically inclined preferred.
- Experience working on commercial truck bodies is preferred.
- Bodywork skills are required.
- Commercial paint experience is required.
