JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Administrative Director of Radiological Services, is responsible for the development, planning, implementing, monitoring and maintaining day to day operations of the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS.) The PACS Administrator will also work in conjunction with the Radiology Information System (RIS) to efficiently maintain uptime and workflow of the RIS. Must have knowledge of a network, its components, capabilities and limitations and functions. Must also have an understanding of Radiology processes and its different modalities, how they function and interact/interface with one another be able to act as a liaison in information technology projects related to Diagnostic Imaging.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Minimum - Education: High school diploma or equivalent, Associates degree or equivalent preferred, MCSE certified or eligible. Bachelor's degree in related health care discipline or information systems discipline preferred.
Experience: Minimum - Requires computer experience, must have a mechanical aptitude and ability, with attention to detail. MCSE certification or eligibility preferred. At least one year of experience managing a PACS system.
