MS-IL Staffing & Packaging and its local client are NOW HIRING Packer Associatesin theWestport, Indiana area!
$17.75/hour
Shifts:3rd, 6PM - 6AM, 12 hour rotating shifts
Packer Associatesplay a vital role in inspecting and packaging finished products in a clean room on the vial machine line. Their responsibilities include effectively utilizing tools like reading and understanding article drawings and packaging specification sheets. They also use various instruments such as calipers, dial/digital indicators gages, polariscope, comparator, attribute gauges, and any other necessary tools. Additionally, they operate the shrink module on inline or conventional shrink machines and respond to inspection system data. Packer Associates communicate with auditors, operators, and supervisors about any issues related to the visual aspects of the vials, conditions of the shrink-wrapped module or label, or conditions of the inspector/packer area.
Job Duties:
- Pulls samples for hourly audit packaging specification sheet/work instructions.
- Visually inspects and packages items into customer configurations.
- Writes reject stickers for modules with non-conforming ware and sets alerts about non-conforming ware.
- Communicates any trends of defects, visual or dimensional to operator, QA auditor, and Shift Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Stamps module tickets with time, date, year, and packer number on each module for traceability.
- Applies all specified module labels in accordance with specification sheets and article.
- Maintains and post packer count sheet for production purposes
- Maintains a safe and clean work area. Sweeping and emptying trash cans as necessary.
- Reports to Shift manager and/or designate when problems occur or when leaving a work area.
- Communicates with inspector/packer on prior shift and inspector/packer arriving for next shift.
- Follows all applicable EHS policies and procedures
- Fills out properly any line clearance forms
- Knows how to tell if a job is EP required and understand EP importance.
- Has a good knowledge of all areas of the auditor's job.
- Runs hourly test using comparator, polariscope, pH sulfur test and any other analysis required in accordance with the specifications sheet and article. Records results of each on required paperwork.
- Other duties as assigned
Skills & requirements:
- Experience in manufacturing or production preferred
- Must have knowledge of attribute gauges, digital/dial gages, calipers, and auditors paperwork
- Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills
- Must be dependable & reliable
- Must pass drug screen & background check
- E-Verify employer
Physical requirements:
- Must be able to stand 12 hours per day
- Must be able to visually inspect parts for 12 hours per day
Dress code: Blue jeans or work pants, MS-IL t-shirt, safety glasses, steel toed shoes. Wear all PPE and required clear room smocks, gloves, hairnets, etc.
