Position Summary
Under the direction of the Packaging Supervisor, the Packaging Trainee’s main task is to:
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Be ready and willing to receive standard training
- Must work in his/her designated area under direct Supervision of an A, B, or C Operator at all times
- Learn basic product identification
- Perform plant cleanup standards tasks during and at the end of an operation or workday
- Exhibits and practices the Third Coast Way fundamental behaviors.
Knowledge and Skills:
- High School Graduate or GED desired but not required.
Work Experience:
- No experience required
Skills and Competencies:
- Have general knowledge of plant safety rules
- Must be able to read and interpret an MSDS, also know the location of the MSDS book
- Knowledge of our quality policy and objectives
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use their hands to handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
- The team member frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- The team member is occasionally required to sit.
- The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally move or manipulate drums weighing between 200-500 pounds.
- Able to perform duties under all types of weather conditions.
