Job Overview
The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of all packaging equipment.
The Packaging Supervisor communicates needs to Technicians that work at various stations on the packaging line. The Packaging Supervisor leads by example and ensures that all Packaging Technicians and Line Leads complete all packaging duties in accordance with Rogues SOP and GMP in a timely manner. The Packaging Supervisor communicates all downtime, quality control issues, employee issues, and needed repairs to machinery with the Packaging Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operation and knowledge of all packaging lines
  • Knowledge and understanding of all SOPs and SDSs
  • Responsible and accountable for training and evaluation of all new and existing packaging employees
  • Ensure Quality Control measures are met at line start up and throughout the production run
  • Conducts basic packaging QC checks for daily production runs
  • Ensure proper equipment use, and PPE for all staff on assigned shift
  • Communicates specific needs to Packaging Technicians during the setup, operation, and cleanup of packaging area and packaging line
  • Track and record all daily downtime and ensure that information is accurate and complete
  • Tracks daily inventory levels of consumable supplies
  • Assist with monthly inventory counts alongside the Packaging Manager and Accounting
  • Monitor the preventative maintenance program with Maintenance and the Packaging Manager
  • Assist in developing and updating line packaging procedures with the Packaging Manager
  • Promote teamwork with all packaging personnel
  • Direct staff questions or concerns to Packaging Manager as necessary
  • Lead weekly and monthly meetings with the assistance of the Packaging Manager
  • Ensure proper cleanliness is upkept according to daily and weekly cleanliness checklists
  • Assist in the hiring process as well as reviews and terminations
  • Ensure that finished product leaves the brewery looking professional

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
  • High School Diploma, GED (or equivalent, reading, writing, reasoning and computer skills)

Experince:
  • 4 years experience operation of canning/bottling/kegging packaging equipment
  • Management experience

Required skills:
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to give and follow written/oral instructions
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time, while being detail oriented
  • Able to stand and walk for 8+ hours/day

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with
hands and arms for extended hours
Must be able to use hands, fingers to wrist for fine digit manipulation
Must be able to maintain adequate vision (with or without corrected lenses)
Adequate peripheral vision is necessary for safety purposes, as are depth, distance, and ability to focus.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Work Environment
Work environment conditions vary often with fluctuating temperatures, and moisture level.
Work environment is frequently noisy.
Work takes place around potentially hazardous machinery, and chemicals.
Personal Protective Equipment and standard operating procedures are enforced to ensure employee safety.
Travel
Travel is not required for this position.
