Job description

Position Summary:


The Warn Group is comprised of multiple premium brands that are known for their execution and quality. As a Packaging Line Tech, you would be responsible for the final quality checks as the finished product moves through your station.


Working independently and collaboratively with others, this position plays an integral role in executing our mission, philosophy, and commitment to providing high-quality products and exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers. In addition to maintaining a high level of trust, integrity and ethical standards, all employees are also expected to promote a culture of safety by following all safety procedures, protocols and guidelines while working in a manner that minimizes the risk of damage to property and injury to the employee and others.


Essential Functions:


  • Perform Quality control checks and complete up to 3 trollies an hour. Will work collaboratively with department lead to determine the quality of the powder coat.
  • Package finished bumpers, grumpers, and more, according to their specified guidelines, following work instructions to ensure proper labeling and identification on each finished product, ensuring that all required information is clearly visible.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend and communicate requirements for each product, and document any poor quality and notify lead.
  • Loads and unloads materials used in the packaging process, such as boxes, crates, or pallets, based on the size and weight of the products. Ensures that all finished goods meet product specifications, before completing the packaging cycle.
  • Learning and understanding the proper arrangement and protection of products within the packaging to prevent damage during transit.
  • While working on a lift table, understand how safely and properly load & unload from the load bar to the floor.
  • Collaborate with team members or use machinery to move and position heavy items.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including disposal of packaging materials and waste.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Must be able to lift to 80lbs, and report to work on time, daily. Must be able to perform Team Lifts as needed.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines.


Required Education and/or Experience:


  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or packaging is preferred.


Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:


  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items using proper equipment and techniques.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift moderately heavy objects.
  • Each packaging station has a different task, must be able to build boxes, use a stapler, pack sequences, and learn to operate as the Kitting Tech.
  • Ability to understand written work instructions and procedures written in English, prints, tool gauges, measuring devices, and inspection tools.

Availability Requirements:


Due to the nature and scope of the essential functions of this position, regular attendance is required.


Approximately 40 hours/week is required to efficiently perform the job duties of this position, including presence at designated internal and external meetings. This position may also require availability and accessibility to respond to and address emergencies and critical situations outside of normal business operating hours in the early mornings, evenings, and/or during weekends. Overtime may be scheduled and required to meet departmental needs.


Available Shifts:


  • 1st shift - Monday to Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm, with occasional overtime
  • 3rd – Sunday to Friday 9:30pm – 6:00am, with occasional overtime.

Language Skills:


Ability to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence at the highest levels in the English language. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other team members. Strong conflict resolution skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.


Mathematical Skills:


Must have mathematical skills equivalent to those required under degree requirements. Higher skills may be required depending on actual job duties.


Physical and Visual Activities:


Standing, Walking, Sitting, Lifting, Carrying, Balancing, Stooping, Reaching, Handling, Feeling, Acuity-Far, Acuity-Near, Depth Perception, and Field of Vision.


Physical Demands:


May require a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. May require lifting up to 80 pounds with assistance.


Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions:


Must be able to work in a shop environment, as well as a usual office environment. May be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals, and vapors.


Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software:


Personal computer, fax machine, copy machine, other office equipment, Microsoft Office, PowerPoint. May minimally operate test equipment and/or basic hand tools.
