Coordinates the activities of the Boxers in the Packaging Department to achieve departmental quality, quantity, service, cost, safety goals, and ensures product is packaged according to specifications, ISO and CSR.
Participates in Scanned Physical Inventories as needed.
Assigns Boxers their daily tasks and prioritizes workflow with regards to Packaging and Samples.
Responsible for shipping Grainger sales orders in accordance with Grainger shipping instructions and Uline Sales Orders in accordance with Uline shipping instructions.
Meets all customer specific requirements when applicable.
Receives, handles, stores and preserves product according to Best Practices and Lesson's Learnt.
Assists Boxers and operates forklift, when necessary.
Observes all safety, environmental and quality control procedures and good housekeeping practices.
Performs miscellaneous duties as required by supervision.
Job Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
Ability to lead.
Basic knowledge of shipping and warehouse procedures; at least one year of distribution or manufacturing experience.
Must be able to lift average weight materials continuously (between 5 and 70) pounds.
Computer literate.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly motivated, well-organized, good problem solving skills and able to coordinate multi and changing priorities.
Satisfactorily pass in-company forklift driver training program.
Physical Demands
Rarely sits, reclines, crouches, squats, kneels, climbs, balances, crawls, or uses manual dexterity. Frequently lifts, carries, pushes, pulls with one or two hands, stands, walks, twists, reaches horizontally, reaches below the waist, and reaches above the shoulders.
Environmental Demands
Rarely deals with the outside, low humidity, wetness, slippery surfaces, vibration, confined space, high elevation, noise, chemical irritant, oil, odors, explosives, electrical hazards, or toxic conditions. Occasionally deals with high temperature, high humidity, and low temperature. Frequently deals with the inside and moving objects.
Equipment Used
This job is performed with the use of a forklift, boxing machine, shrink-wrap machine, utility knife, tape measure, air stapler, pallet jack, lift table, computer, scanner, copier, printer, and calculator.
