The Packaging Expert, Technical Applications Group (TAG) position autonomously develops and leads transformative technical solutions for products, processes, or packages (innovations or renovations). In addition, the Expert leads competence and technical solution strategy development in a specific area of expertise that is consumer relevant and provides a step change in competitive advantage for Nestle including levering industry breakthroughs outside of Nestle. This includes technical and science-based proposals and recommendations to Senior Leaders in Operations and General Management via effective and impactful communications / presentations. Lastly, this position provides technical expertise and leadership on cross-functional project teams, including technical oversight during the industrialization of the transformative product, process, or package.
Key Outputs and Deliverables:

  1. Leverage industry and global Nestle Network Insights to autonomously develop, implement, and execute transformative technical programs across product, process and packaging that deliver significant business impact. Effectively collaborate and influence autonomously with internal and external senior leader stakeholders on highly complex initiatives and programs.

  1. Lead highly technical projects and initiatives including working very closely and collaboratively with Nestle R&D Units (where appropriate) on break-thru programs including innovation, and significant step change improvements in manufacturing excellence across internal and external factories.

  1. Autonomously identify, influence, and lead the development and approval of Market-based product, packaging, and process standards within the Nestlé.

  1. Ideally, play a pro-active core-team member role within a Nestle Global Expert Network.

  1. Play a lead role in technical competency mastership building within and outside of T&P and autonomously provide technical external to Nestle benchmarking insights to drive business impactful ensure supply strategy development

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL
EXPERIENCE:
• Typically has a University Degree (BS) related to area of expertise (i.e., Food Science, Chemical Engineering, Packaging Science, Business Management) or equivalent experience and a minimum of 7 years of related work.
• Prefer Master's Degree and Prefer minimum 10 years' experience in CPG or related industry operating in area of expertise (i.e., product, packaging, process development or project management).
• Proven ability and experience leading cross-functional teams in high complexity, large business impact scoped technical projects
• Breadth and depth in Food/Packaging Technology with expertise in Product Development, Packaging Technology or Project Management
• Proven ability and experience influencing and working on projects from concept / ideation to successful scale translation into a factory manufacturing environment
SKILLS:
• Effectively collaborates and influences people at all levels in the organization through strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexibility and adaptability to perform in a high-volume, fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Quick sifting abilities (focuses project team and stakeholders on the top priorities - can focus on high level and detail level, knowing which is appropriate)
• Ability to drive for impactful results through effective leadership and coaching to senior leaders and individual contributors
• Ability to effectively challenge the status quo, self-direct and manage ambiguity to drive business impactful disruption
• Ability to identify links between facts, ideas and situations and tell a compelling story, leveraging presentation tools and methods appropriately
• Self-motivated and extremely agile with change
