Job Description:
The Packaging Attendant is responsible for set-up equipment, adjusts, operates, repair, lubricate and monitors the slicers, wrapper, metal detector and checkweigher. He/She will perform mechanical and preventative maintenance procedures including deep cleaning (CIL) on the equipment. The Packaging Attendant will initialize the changeover between varieties and assist production when necessary. He/She will clean all related equipment between changeovers. The Packaging Attendant will perform all allergen clean ups and quality checks in accordance with standard procedures then neatly and accurately fill out all necessary paperwork, also need to follow established procedures and work instruction for the job responsibilities and assignments. Responsible for area housekeeping and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

2) Properly setting up machines in accordance with established procedures and work instructions
3) Make repairs to machines as needed.
4) Responsible for efficient use of consumables
5) Make machine adjustments acceptable finished product and speed.
6) Conform to all quality standards (HACCP, AIB, Aveva and CTS but not limited to correct package selection, data collection, verify slice amount, and metal detector check
7) Responsible for conducting all product and equipment change over as needed.
8) Perform routine preventative maintenance.
9) Participate on Root Cause Analysis process using tools such as 5Why and other problem-solving methods.
10) Utilize technical manuals and blueprints.
11) Neatly and accurately fill out all necessary documentation (Ex. HACCP – CTS)
12) Maintain a safe neat and clean work area accordance with GMP and good housekeeping practices.
13) Follow all safety rules.
14) Assist and direct all rework functions.
15) Communicate with co-workers and supervisors.
16) Follow all JSA guidelines.
17) Upon successful completion of training, will be required to train new employees in the position.

Preferred Candidate: Has one year experience as a backup Packaging Attendant in Lakeland. Has two or more years of experiences on similar equipment as outlined in the job description. Has some formal technical training and can pass the written test. Knowledge and experience with basic hand tools is necessary.
Note: This position will be awarded based on the ability to perform the job, which will be determined on a basis of personal interview. In addition, the candidate's safety record, disciplinary record, quality record, job performance, previous work history and experience will be taken into consideration. Only candidates meeting eligibility criteria in all categories will be invited to interview. This position will not be awarded based on seniority. The employee may have to get training on a different shift for the position.
Language Skills, must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions and have the ability to write simple correspondence and memoranda, must be able to communicate with respect, to all levels of employees.
Mathematical Skills, must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to read a rulers and tape measure using Metric and English units of measure.
Reasoning Ability must have the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to troubleshoot problems involving several variables.

Work Conditions:
