Job Description

Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Provider is under the supervision of a physician, performs physical examinations, delineates problems and records data for any age group.  Orders, performs and interprets common laboratory, radiological, cardiographic and other routine diagnostic procedures used to identify pathophysiologic processes.  Provides direct patient care services.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assesses the health status, illness conditions, response to illness, and health risks of patients.
  • Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to diagnose medical and surgical problems.
  • Prescribes necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
  • Takes patient histories, conducts physical exams, and focuses on health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Maintains timely documentation of the patient history and physical examination.
  • Leads and assists staff in awareness and understanding of Quality Measures and works collaboratively to continually improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborates with the physician in the assigned practice setting, nursing, support staff and other members of the health team.
  • Maintains recognized Physician Assistant Standards of Practice and follows approved scope of practice.
  • Displays strong clinical skills as well as excellent interpersonal relationship skills in interpreting and communicating health care information to the patient and family.
  • Is willing to cover other clinics when other providers are out.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Applies DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibits behaviors consistent with DRH core values.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Coordinates with management in maintaining RHC standards.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 80 hrs pp

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Must hold valid licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Provider in Oklahoma or the ability to attain one, one year experience as a Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Provider preferred

 

Education and/or Experience: Must have graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Provider program recognized by the State Board of Medical Licensure & Supervision.

 

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Active License in Oklahoma or ability to acquire one, Current Healthcare provider BLS certification required
