ABOUT THE ROLE
The Valet Parking Attendant ensures the safe and efficient parking of guest vehicles while delivering a service that exceeds our customer/client’s expectations. Their responsibilities include responding quickly to customers’ requests and providing caring interactions with all guests at their assigned locations. The Valet works closely with fellow team members, Manager, and/or Supervisor to ensure that quality and safety standards are met at all times as well as adhering to state and local laws.
Essential Duties:
- Able to operate guest vehicles requiring normal coordination, including eye-hand, hand-foot.
- Able to operate manual transmission vehicles (stick shift).
- Able to move from valet stand to customer cars by walking or running for extended periods of time, sometimes for the entire duration of the shift.
- Able to move, lift, carry, and place objects such as guest luggage or personal items weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and in excess of 50 pounds with assistance.
Specific Requirements of this role:
- Greet and assist all guests upon arrival.
- Open guest vehicle doors, assist with unloading the vehicle when necessary.
- Safely drive and park the vehicle in the appropriate space, ensuring the appropriate operation of guest vehicles.
- Assist guests with bringing their luggage or personal items into the hotel.
- Inspect vehicle for pre-existing damage record information using an electronic device or manual ticket; correctly record the make, model, and exact location of each vehicle.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle guest concerns calmly and effectively.
- Ability to drive a variety of vehicles, including standard and automatic transmissions.
- Able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Previous valet experience in the hotel industry or in a similar role is preferred, but not required.
- Valid Driving License and Clean driving record (no moving violations in the last 12 months).
