Job description

The Overnight Relief Staff (awake) provides a supportive and empathic presence to all clients as well as being able to provide recovery support. The Relief Staff also maintains the overall security of the program and is working independently as well as cooperatively with the various program teams.
Although this is an “on call, as needed” position, the opportunity to pick up shifts is great and gives you the flexibility to make your own schedule. The ideal candidate for this position is reliable and dependable; has a calm demeanor and is able to think on their feet; as well as demonstrates excellent communication and customer service skills.
Typical functions include but are not limited to:
  • Act in accordance with Victory Programs, Inc.’s Standards of Excellence at all times, including maintaining professional ethics, boundaries and client confidentiality.
  • Provide supportive and empathic presence to all clients, and be available for recovery support
  • Answer telephones and monitor front desk
  • Create and maintain documentation
  • Ensure that program chores have been completed by the clients
  • Conduct house and room checks every hour
  • Assist clients with medication procedures
  • Participate in count of controlled substance medications at beginning and end of each shift with one other staff members coming onto or leaving the shift.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • 6 months prior human services experience with knowledge of the addiction and recovery process.
  • CPR Certification and yearly TB result documentation (can be done on site as well).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a member of the treatment team.
  • Ability to relate to residents in an instructive, directive, firm and compassionate manner.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to go up and down stairs to monitor clients.

Schedule:
  • Weekdays Overnight shifts available at various programs, 11pm-7am, 11.30pm-7.30am or 12am-8pm depending on the program
Rate:
  • $19.71/hour
***Relief Staff are expected to work at least 16 hours per monthcontingent on program needs and must be able to attend mandatory trainings and/or meetings during week days.
