Position Title: Night Shift Mental Health Technician

Location: Colorado Springs, CO / Cascade, CO

Schedule: Overnight Shift | 12.5 Hour Shifts

  • Friday / Saturday 8:00pm to 8:30am Cascade Teen Residential Center
  • Sunday 8:00pm to 8:30am Colorado Springs Detox Center

Job Type: Full Time

Compensation: $18.50-20.50 Per Hour

As a Mental Health Technician, you will be part of a dedicated and supportive team of professionals who work in two different settings:

  • The Colorado Springs Medical Detox Center, where you will work with adults
  • The Cascade Teen Residential Center, where you will work with adolescents

You will provide compassionate and effective care for our clients, who are struggling with addiction and Mental Health issues. You will interact with them on a daily basis, assist them with their daily needs, and support them in their recovery journey. You will also participate in recreational activities that promote physical and emotional well-being, such as hiking, yoga, and gardening. You will ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for everyone by applying your verbal de-escalation and redirection skills. You will collaborate with other staff members, such as counselors, nurses, and therapists, to deliver high-quality services and coordinate care plans.

In This Role You Will

  • Management of daily floor activities
  • Transportation of client's to/from daily activities
  • Maintaining "eyes on" the clients at all times
  • Working cohesively with nurse's and additional support to maintain safety.
  • Occasional set up at mealtimes.
  • Occasional light laundry duties
  • Occasional room cleaning, and grounds sweeps.
  • Completing admission process for all new client's coming into the facility (admission process, collecting a UDS & BAC sample, conducting a skin check & thorough inventory search)
  • Completing discharge process for all client's exiting the facility (signing out all proper paperwork & accounting for client having all necessary items.
  • Completing 15 minute or 30 minute "safety checks" on all clients in the facility at respective intervals.
  • Ensuring to receive and/or give proper shift handoff with fellow BHTs when leaving/coming onto shift with the goal of ensuring communication and important information is not missed.
  • Maintaining strong communication with the nursing team when on shift to ensure communication stays open and important information is not missed.

Qualifications

You are a passionate and dedicated professional who wants to make a difference in the lives of adolescents. You have:

  • A bachelor's degree in a behavioral health science or equivalent work or volunteer experience.
  • Previous experience with treatment of substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders.
  • Training in verbal de-escalation and/or Mental Health (strongly preferred).
  • A valid driver's license with no restrictions - Must be willing to transport clients in a 15-passenger van.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience (ideal but not required).

Compensation and Benefits
