The Outside Solutions Engineer will partner with the Sales team to develop solutions that meet the unique client challenges presented within the MSP and Networking spaces. The ability to successfully connect technology with clients business objectives is critical to this role’s success and the chosen candidate will play a key role in winning new business. The ideal candidate will posses a mix of technical aptitude, consultative selling skills and the ability to translate IT requirements into compelling proposals. This team member supports the overall sales plan and strategy for Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) sales.
Key Responsibilities/ Duties:
- Accountable for supporting the Sales Teams and meeting with clients virtually or in-person.
- Present as a confident pre-sales technologist within the MSP and networking space to senior level executives.
- Collaborate with the Sales teams to develop Managed Services strategies and solutions that align with the client’s specific business and technical requirements.
- Lead the pre-sales discovery process and deliver demos and pre-sales assessments as needed.
- Create and deliver presentations and initial offerings for Managed Services that address client’s business and technical needs.
- Lead the solution design and proposal creation process for new opportunities.
- Partner with the Inside Solutions Engineering team to develop quotes that are accurate and meet the Meriplex standard level of service.
- Collaborate with Practice Managers to drive sales in specific product areas.
- Build key partnerships with internal stakeholders such as Product Managers and Product Engineers to support the solution design process.
- Identify opportunities that require Deal Desk approval.
- Ensure timely and effective communication with all internal teams, vendors, and clients.
- Respond to internal communication within a timely manner to ensure that all parties are aware of status or any impact to timeline outside of normal conditions.
- Provide knowledge transfer and detailed design/ operational documentation to clients and relevant internal parties.
- Monitor market dynamics and emerging technologies to continually stay abreast with the best-in-class offerings.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Behaviors:
- 7+ years’ experience working in a fast-paced Managed Services environment.
- 5+ years selling to mid-enterprise to enterprise clients.
- Experience using Office365, advanced Excel, Visio, and Microsoft Exchange Servers.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience with IT infrastructure and servers.
- Well versed in enterprise architecture and IT strategies.
- Must be familiar with solutions that are Premises Based, Cloud Based, or Hybrid Solutions.
- Knowledge of high-speed Broadband, Voice/SIP, MPLS, and Data Center services is preferred.
- Comfortable working with multiple internal teams, from individual contributors to senior executives, as well as building/maintaining relationships with clients, partners, alliances etc.
- Demonstrated ability to understand business problems and a passion for applying technology solutions and leveraging technology trends to deliver results.
- Demonstrated ability to document information with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent spoken and written communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
Education:
- Masters degree in Business Administration, Communications or similar field preferred.
Certifications:
- Certifications (knowledge or equivalent experience) in Microsoft, VMWare, SDWAN, LAN Networking, Wireless, Server Infrastructure, and Cloud.
Physical Demands:
Sedentary Work – Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.

Current Pay Range: $105,000-$115,000 Annually
