Outside Sales Calf Nutrition Rep

Outside Calf Nutrition Representative will drive calf feed sales by consistently meeting team and individual goals by selling products and programs for JDH. Providing the best value to the customer and maximize market share, market penetration, and profitability by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to offer ideas and insight into better calf management practices.
• Work with the entire sales team to build strategies and new ideas to call on prospective customers.
• Work with sales team to build strategies to solicit new orders for existing feeding programs and work to design and implement advanced feeding programs that maximize net income for the customer and the company.
• Investigates and resolves customers’ problems with deliveries and/or quality concerns.
• Emphasizes time on growing value-added product, programs, and mixed feeds within the current customer base and while prospecting new accounts.
• Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
• Works with other JDH team member to help grow their business as well as working to grow sales of commodities.
• Attends periodic trade shows and nutritional or dairy management meeting to promote company image and develop dairy skill set.
• As necessary, manage on the farm inventories and order in advance with estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm’s production and delivery schedules.
• Promote and maintains JDH reputation and image.
• Drive a culture of safety, accountability, opportunistic curiosity and contributes to creating an environment where people want to work.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Agribusiness or a related field preferred.
• Five years related experience and/or training, in calf raising.
• Knowledge of calf ranch and dairy operations, feed ingredients and a basic understanding of
• ruminant nutrition.
• Ability to speak fluent Spanish desired.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

Physical Demands

• Frequent sitting, use of computer, communication via telephone
• Ability to navigate an office environment.
• Job may require occasional travel within the United States.
