Pete'sTire Barns was started by Peter A. Gerry in 1968 and has grown to one of thelargest independent tire dealerships in the country. Pete's currently operates22 full-service locations in New England, a state-of-the art DistributionCenter, 3 Bandag retread facilities, employs in excess of 300 people, andoperates a fleet of over 100 service and delivery vehicles. Today,approximately 90% of our business is in the commercial truck tire and relatedmarkets. Pete's services everything from a wheelbarrow tire up to anearthmover tire.
OutsideCommercial Tire Sales Rep Qualifications:
- Driver's License &clean driving record required
- High School Diploma orEquivalent required
- 3+ years ofprogressive sales experience in a related field required
- Bachelor'sDegree in Business or Related Field preferred
OutsideCommercial Tire Sales Rep Requirements:
- Manage Heavy Truck, OTR, Agricultural, and Light Truck customer base in given area
- Maintain existing business and establish prospective business through value driven customer specific product and service recommendations
- Utilize our internal CRM software to build customer profiles, submit orders, and quote customers
- Resolve customer issues by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations
- Monitor local competition by gathering current market information on pricing, products, and delivery and service capabilities
- Ethically meet and exceed sales and profitability expectations through best practices
- Always represent one's self and company professionally and maintain a professional appearance
- Self-schedule and best manage time by creating and executing a work plan
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of company supported products and services to provide accurate information to customers
- Willingness to help with various duties outside of normal functions such as inventory counts, occasional deliveries, store coverage, etc.
- Work closely and as a team player with store, distribution, and office support personnel
- Assist the Credit Manager in ensuring timely payment from assigned customer base
- Perform a variety of manual tasks whichmay include fleet tire surveys, light and heavy lifting of commercial tires andwheels, standing, bending, sitting and squatting
- Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, customerservice, and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational skills andattention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with aproven ability to self-schedule
- Ability to prospect new business, forman action plan, and successfully execute it
