Position Summary
Responsible for scheduling and registering outpatients for Wound Care Services; verifying insurance pre-authorizations and completing reauthorizations; auditing and copying chart documentation for billing and coding; entering daily charges; obtaining required physician signatures and orders; updating monthly recurring accounts; performing secretarial duties, data collection and miscellaneous duties as assigned for Wound Care and Admitting Services.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- One year scheduling and/or secretarial experience in the medical field preferred.
- Computer skills: proficient in Word and Excel
- Medical terminology preferred.
- Ability to perform secretarial duties including completion of reports, letters and policy and procedure formulation.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to deal with constantly changing work demands.
- Excellent customer service skills
Essential Job Functions
- Schedules outpatients for Wound Care Services.
- Coordinates and prioritizes all information concerning the patients, physicians, insurance carriers and department staff.
- Performs general administrative and clerical duties.
- Registers patients.
