Healthcare Talent Support is a nationwide healthcare recruitment company. We are actively seeking a board certified Psychiatrist for onsite, outpatient providing care to active duty military and their families.
Status: 1099 contract
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:30pm
- 8 scheduled appointments per day
- No on-call or after hours
- Med mal: under Federal Torte Claims Act
About the opportunity:
- Examines, evaluates, diagnoses, and treats psychiatric disorders.
- Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains and evaluates data through interview techniques.
- Diagnose psychiatric disorders.
- Prescribes and evaluates effectiveness of a wide range of therapeutic measures.
- Recommends disposition of psychiatric cases.
- Advises on problems related to mental health and prevention of mental disorders,
- Serves as medical and psychiatric consultant to clinical psychologists and clinical social workers.
- Advises on kind and quantity of psychiatric supplies and equipment.
- Coordinates psychiatric services with other medical activities.
- Instructs interns and residents in psychiatric principles and procedures.
- Writes military profiles when mobility or duty limiting conditions or medication use exits.
- Serves as medical and psychiatric consultant to Commanders and First Sergeants.
- Assist with Medical Evaluation Boards to the extent that such attendance and participation is relative to his/her assigned cases.
- Performs psychiatric military specific Evaluation Boards to include but not limited to MEB, TDRL, DoDCAR, CDE, etc.
- 7 to 8 scheduled outpatient visits per day, all active duty
- 60 minute intake, 30 minute follow up
- Degree/Education: Graduate from an American Psychiatric Association accredited college or university with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychiatry.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience
- Board Certification: Current board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- License: Current, full, active and unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Psychiatrist in any state, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico or US Virgin Islands.
