Outpatient Psychiatric Nurse

Location

1 position based at our MH/SUD outpatient facility located in Huntingdon, PA. This position requires travel to other MH/SUD offices as needed located in Bellefonte, Roaring Spring and Yeagertown. Compensation for time and mileage occurs based on the reimbursement policy.

Hours

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year (may include non-traditional hours).

Compensation

Yearly Salary Range $44,000-$45,300

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse
• Maintain professional and confidential attitude.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Flexibility to travel and work varied hours.
• Ability to gather and analyze health-related information.
• Three years of experience in mental health services
• Must obtain the following clearances prior to hire: PA State Police Criminal History, PA Child Abuse History, FBI Criminal History, and Mandated Reporting Certificate

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in providing treatment to clients.
• Address client questions and concerns with the physician.
• Explain psychiatric services and expectations to clients.
• Follow up with clients per physician request
• Ensure requested lab work is available for physician review
• Provide additional information as requested by the physician.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new information and skills and engage in ongoing education, training and meetings.
• Receive and provide training/education, as well as train/provide education to others.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in order to build trust and respect with professionals, staff, children, and parents.
• Self-motivation and ability to work independently as well as a team.
• Organizational and time management skills to be able to plan and organize work effectively.
• Empathy and understanding in dealing with clients and families.
• Gather ongoing health-related information for treatment decisions.
• Update client history and changes at each appointment.
• Record heights and weights as needed.
• Update medication logs regularly.
• Log diagnoses and codes accurately.
• Explain behavior questionnaires and follow up on them.
• Support agency philosophy and objectives.
• Demonstrate dependability, motivation, and initiative.
• Develop treatment plans and staffings for medication goals.
• Make follow-up phone calls as needed.
• Provide education and support to clients and parents.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with parents.
• Develop knowledge and skills to meet job requirements.
• Report outcomes based on key result areas.
• Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
• Communicate concerns to leadership.
• Cooperate with administrative and office staff.
• Attend and participate in monthly supervisions.
